WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR: Basic Tactical Shotgun is designed for shooters who want to master one of the most effective tools for home defense and close-range protection. Whether you're new to shotguns or have some experience, this course will teach you to operate a shotgun with confidence, safety, and efficiency in both defensive and practical contexts. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: The shotgun is a specialized tool that differs significantly from the pistol and rifle in its handling, recoil management, and applications. This training starts with the fundamentals and progresses to tactical skills. Topics include: - Shotgun safety and handling principles - Types of shotguns and their applications (pump, semi-auto, break-action) - Ammunition selection: birdshot, buckshot, and slugs - Stance and recoil management techniques - Loading, unloading, and speed reloading drills - Shooting from various positions - Home defense deployment strategies - Pattern awareness and spread at different distances - Malfunction identification and clearing WHY TAKE THIS COURSE: The shotgun is widely regarded as one of the best home defense firearms, but it requires proper training to use effectively. Many shotgun owners are unprepared for its recoil or have never practiced emergency reloads or movement with the weapon. This course will change that. Private Lessons and Refresher classes: Please note that once you have booked an appointment with us, it means we have reserved time in our schedule exclusively for you. If you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours before it is scheduled to take place, you will be subject to a fee/re-booking charge of $25. To avoid a cancellation fee, please provide cancellation notice at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. If Equanimity and Associates, LLC cancels an appointment with less than 48 hours notice, a new appointment will be scheduled without penalty to the client and subject to availability.
